Our clinics are the most public face of the Foundation, but they are by no means the whole of our work within local communities. Whilst unrestricted grants are the most useful for us, we understand that some foundations and corporations prefer to give money to specifics projects. Unlike other health charities, we do not require new high-tech equipment each year - our most important equipment is our osteopaths!
However, there are areas of our work which always require funding, including: our free clinics; the education programme (students' tution fees cover about 50% of the programme's cost to the Foundation); volunteers' expenses and coordination; our outreach and sport osteopathy programme; and the every-day costs, such as utilities and the server space for this website.
There are a few new ideas for 2008 which are currently unfunded, such as automatic doors for our main clinic in London to increase ease of access for disabled children and families, and we are especially keen to launch a quarterly newsletter for patients and families. Support for these projects would be most welcome! Please call 020 7490 5510 for more information.
£300 could fund one days' osteopathic treatment in Barnet General Hospital's neonatal ICU.
£31,200 could fund the consultant paediatric osteopath at our flagship clinic for six months.
